BIO/History
Sam Zalowitz has been serving Memphis and adjacent areas since 1975. The company was founded by Samuel J. Zalowitz, CCIM in 2002. Sam obtained his initial training with Cross Country Realty, and then advanced to BELZ ENTERPRISES where he was responsible for leasing all shopping centers, office buildings and warehouses that the firm owned at the time. Sam was also responsible for leasing retail spaces on the ground floor of the PEABODY HOTEL while with the BELZ Organization. After 13 years with Belz, Sam created his own firm in 1989 named AMPCO (American Properties Company), where Sam was responsible for the management of over 500,000 s.f. of class A office space in both the Downtown and Mid-Town areas of Memphis. Sam assisted clients with the development of the ONE MEMPHIS PLACE office building downtown and over 7 shopping Centers all over town for BENNETT YORK ENTERPRISES. Sam was then hired by BARBEE & ASSOCIATES to develop their Commercial Investment Brokerage Division and also assist in the development of SOUTHWINDS SHOPPING CENTER in Germantown. Sam was hired one year later to develop a Commercial Investment Brokerage Division for GRANT & CO. a well known residential developer in Memphis. After 6 years with Grant, Sam chose to assist CRYE-LEIKE in expanding their Property Management department into the Commercial Investment arena. Sam was with CRYE-LEIKE for 6 years until he decide once again to begin his own firm. Zalowitz Commercial Realty was then created and in 2006 Sam was asked to partner with Ryan Edwards and Dr. Bennett Rudorfer in the creation of a property management firm named EZR Management LLC. Within the year, Sam was asked to join MARCUS & MILLICHAP a national real estate Investment firm in the creation and management of their new Memphis Office.  In 2008 Sam decided that refocusing on the Memphis Market, and handling his clients leasing, management, investing and disposition was to be his ultimate dream.
